Sadly, the options available from the traditional DIY stores where you can buy wardrobes do not offer the products required to give any wardrobes that fully fitted look and feel. There’s really no substitute for some fully customised, bespoke, made to measure wardrobes. To make a wardrobe installation look fully ‘fitted’, you need furniture board panels to act as infill panels to both the left, right and top of the wardrobes to avoid any unsightly gaps. In our experience, the DIY stors don’t tend to offer these panels so the best you can expect is to have some freestanding wardrobe units joined together and fixed to the wall, but they’ll never have that sleek ‘fitted’ look.
With fitted wardrobes, you can also customise the internal components far more than with an ‘off the shelf’ wardrobe set. Additionally, when we install fitted wardrobes, the installation can also offer other custom solutions (for example bespoke dressing desk areas etc) that you won’t be able to find with the DIY wardrobes. The internal configuration is not governed as much by the standard panels and corresponding components, and this is where there skill from experienced installers pays dividends.
