Common mistakes made when building a media wall include cladding the outer finishing material in MDF. With an MDF media wall, unless the wall is smaller than 2440mm x 1220mm, there will always be joins and with the best will in the world, even the best decorator will struggle to hide them entirely. So in our opinion, you just can’t beat a plastered finish. As an example, with many of the moden electric fireplaces, they are installed first and the plasterboard is installed on top as they need to be plastered INTO the wall to give a perfect, fully integrated finish.
